Context and objective

This scientific study starts from urban growth and transport needs to question the role of autonomous mobility. Its central question is not only what Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) can do, but how far they can reasonably be trusted.

Method

The research has two parts. The first traces the development of transportation from its origins and the changes expected from digital technology. The second compares the advantages and disadvantages of autonomy to build a critical analysis rather than a purely forward-looking presentation.

Implementation

The work collects and structures historical, scientific and technological sources on transportation and ITS. Expected uses of autonomous information and communication technologies are considered alongside their limits and risks. This progression provides the framework for the report and scientific presentation.

Results and deliverables

The deliverable is a scientific presentation on autonomous mobility, supported by the complete report retained in the project folder. It presents the development of transportation, defines ITS and structures discussion around the benefits and reservations associated with these systems.

Lessons learned

The project develops a critical view of innovation: transport technology must be assessed through its uses, benefits and limits, not only through feasibility. It also demonstrates the value of connecting historical context with contemporary issues.
