Context and objective
This capstone turns a business case into an end-to-end low-code solution with Microsoft Power Platform. The objective is to connect data modeling, a business application, process automation and decision-oriented reporting.
Architecture or method
Dataverse stores the entities and their relationships. Power Apps provides the interface for viewing and entering data, Power Automate orchestrates recurring processing and workflow steps, and Power BI uses the same data for reporting and the business case indicators.
Implementation
The work starts by identifying process entities, attributes and rules. The Dataverse model then becomes the common foundation for the application and automated flows. Power Apps views and interactions are aligned with user tasks, while Power Automate handles repetitive sequences. A Power BI dashboard completes the solution with a decision-support view.
Results and deliverables
The retained deliverable is the Capstone Project student guide. The project documents coordinated use of four services—Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI—around one business case, from source data to reporting.
Lessons learned
A coherent low-code solution starts with a clearly defined data model and process. The project also highlights the complementary roles of interface, automation and analytics instead of treating Power Platform services as disconnected tools.
