Context and objective

The project addresses an SNCF business-owner requirement: planning the design and implementation of a management tool for Boards of Directors and Committees. The requested output is a complete project plan, from requirements analysis through acceptance and closure.

Method

Scope and objectives are established with the business owner, followed by a technical and functional solution description and diagrams. Planning combines a prioritized task list, PERT network and Gantt macro-schedule. A RACI matrix allocates responsibilities across business-owner and delivery teams, while resources are estimated as full-time equivalents.

Implementation

Tasks, milestones, deliverables and steering-committee meetings are sequenced chronologically. PERT critical dates and float identify sensitive points. A risk register associates risks with corrective or mitigation actions. The quality approach covers monitoring, deliverable validation tests, acceptance and closure conditions.

Results and deliverables

Deliverables include the complete project plan and a project-management assignment, supported by the Gantt macro-schedule and RACI matrix. Together they give the business owner a view of scope, responsibilities, resources, schedule, risks and expected validation.

Lessons learned

The work demonstrates complementary planning tools: PERT analyzes dependencies and float, Gantt makes the schedule readable, RACI clarifies ownership and the risk register prepares responses. The relationship between business owner and delivery team remains central from planning through acceptance.
